Reading List (Leganto) : Guide for Instructors

Your reading lists made easy!

Manage Student Discussion

When viewing a list or citation, you may see a Student Discussion area in the right pane of the reading list view. Students can add comments and questions here.

As an administrator of the reading list, you can delete comments from the discussion list.

You can disable all discussions about citations on a reading list by clicking on the Reading List Options Menu , then selecting 'Configure List Discussions' and then the ‘Hide student discussion thread’. The Student Discussion link will be hidden.

To re-enable the discussion thread, select ‘Show student discussion thread’ under the Configure List Discussions link.

View Student Usage Report

You can view Student Usage Reports in Reading List (Leganto,) to see how engaged students are with your reading lists, and the materials within.

Access the Reports from the Leganto sidebar.

The usage reports are powered by Oracle BI, and display out-of-the-box analytics. The Analysis tab shows the overall reading list usage, and a weekly breakdown.

Usage information includes number of full-text views, number of comments, number of items marked as read, and number of likes.

The Usage tab presents a more detailed analysis of student usage for each list.  For each list you can see the list details, followed by the total citations in the list, number of participants in the course, mobile activity and activity score including  total number of full text access, total comments, total likes, and total read it and more.

The weekly breakdown allows you to gauge progress and trends in student usage of the list.

You can export the usage reports to an Excel spreadsheet via the Page Options menu > Export to Excel > and selecting Current Page or Entire Dashboard.
