Reading List (Leganto) : Guide for Instructors

Your reading lists made easy!

What You Will Need

Before creating your own Reading List, it would be helpful to have the following information ready: 

  • The course name(s) and course code(s); 
  • The term in which the course(s) will take place; and,
  • A copy of your syllabus and/or current reading list (if available)

Create a Reading List

1. Log-in to AnimoSpace using your MLS Account. Go to Courses then click Reading List. 



The first time you access Leganto Reading Lists you may see a help wizard on the welcome screen.



2. To create a list, click New List.



3. Enter a title and an optional description, and click Create.



4. Select a blank template. 


Associate the Reading List To a Course

1. The new reading list needs to be assigned to our course. To do this, click on  ASSOCIATE LIST.



2. Search for your course by course name or course code and select the relevant course from the list. Click ASSOCIATE AND CLOSE.



3. The associated course will appear below the description. You can edit the reading list details by by clicking the EDIT button.



Note: If you started the Reading List from a course in AnimoSpace, the course code will automatically appear. To change the course, click the top ellipsis menu (...) beside the EDIT button then click "Manage Course Association." 

Add Sections To List

1. Each list is divided into sections, which can represent semesters, weeks, topic divisions, and so forth. To add a section, click NEW SECTION.



2. Enter the title of the section and optional description. The dates are for sections that divide the reading list into time units. You can always edit the section’s details by clicking Options > Edit Section.



You can easily change the order of the sections by clicking-and-dragging.

Note: In AnimoSpace, if you started from the course' page, the course code will be automatically populated. To change the course associated with your list, click the top ellipsis menu (...) then select 'Manage Course Association.'
